Find Out When Your MOT Is Due For FREE

Find out when your MOT is due – for FREE!

Using the tool on the Gov.uk website, you can check the MOT status of any vehicle for free. Just type in the reg number and you can see if your MOT is valid, as well as when your next one is due and even past results such as if it passed or failed, the mileage recorded at the last MOT, which parts failed and any minor problems they may have had.

You can use this to check a car you’re thinking of buying or to remind yourself when your own car needs an MOT.

You can check on a vehicle’s MOT as soon as the test centre has uploaded the data. Data is only shown from vehicle tests done from 2005 in England, Scotland and Wales.

Use the free MOT tool here: https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history

MOT checks explained

MOT inspections are to ensure that your vehicle is roadworthy and meets UK safety and environmental standards.

All vehicles must have an MOT check when it’s three years old, and then every year after that. This includes cars, vans and motorbikes, but certain kinds of vehicles are exempt:

    • cars and motorbikes made before 1960:
    • electric goods vehicles
    • tractors

Driving without a valid MOT is a criminal offence that could land you with a £2,500 fine, three penalty points and a possible driving ban!

Nobody wants that, so get your MOT done and keep it up to date! If your vehicle doesn’t pass the MOT due to repairs needed, BodyKraft are a repair centre!
